Yes, the second printing of the cards omitted the team and league. The font is also different than the original cards.

Not sure exactly. Of the few “name only” cards that exist, the earliest postmark that I have seen is 1909.

The “main” set of 192 Major Leaguers (12 players for each of the 16 teams) was definitely in production in August of 1908.
