Here's a look at 3 more examples of California Brown pose 2. So far, I'm only seeing 1887 numbered with hot dog logo, and 1889 "factory" examples for pose 2. From left, examples by NiceDoctor, Jefferson Burdick, and an example from PSA via ebay.

Here is what is catalogued . . .
45-1 Bat at ready looking at camera a. California Brown, C. N.Y's (B-0271, Fb)45-2 In mask, catch, hands chest high a. California Brown, C. N.Y's (B-0272, Es)45-3 Throw, R/hand chin high, mask in L/hand a. California Brown, C. N.Y's (B-0273, Es, Em)45-4 Bat in L/hand at side a. California Brown, C. N.Y's (B-0274)45-5 In mask, hands on thighs a. California Brown, C. N.Y's (B-0275)If you combine all five poses, California Brown covers most of the bases. Three types of 1887 cards (long numbered type B (flying hot dog advert), N175 small (Es), & N175 large (Em)), 1888 (both type Fa & Fb), 1889 (Fc), and 1890 (Fc PL) with a cabinet to boot (G). The only types not covered would be script, short numbered, and long numbered type A. There are likely some variations missing from this list, 1888 re-issues (Fa & Fb) were often not catalogued as completely. Over the years I've added many Detroit pose re-issues to the Cartophilic Listing. Looks like you already have pose 2 covered with two variations but lots of room to grow on the other poses. Good Luck !!

Thanks very much, Joe. That is the information I was looking for..an N172 exhaustive checklist of all possible cards. I have y'all's book, the Lipset guide, and the Lemke guide that lists the Hofer's. Is the catalogue you are referring to the ACC? I would like to purchase a full checklist and would like to know what volume to look for.
I was originally going for all poses of all NY Giants players, but now I'd rather focus on a few Giants players and attempt to compile all, or as many of their cards as I can. Rob
