Jim if I remember correctly you purchased my extra 1955 Enos Slaughter gamer years ago.

Mike, I had 2 Vic Powers. One with Powers and one with Pellot.

From memory, the Slaughter was a nice piece of lumber…..

I’m looking for some ideas. I completed my 1971 Pirates bat run. There are 18 total bats in my collection. I’m considering building a display case. Before I do I was curious as to how others display their bat collections.

I sold my bat collection to focus on flannels, but I kept one of my bat racks up. The plan is to limit my bats to no more than 10, and in time, have them be the 10 most meaningful, yet inexpensive, bats I can acquire.

I made this rack myself. It's simple, the tubes protect the bats, they are easy to pull out and put back (velcro stickers hold them in place,) and since 1967 was the first year I collected cards, I display them with the bats. You could build this for less than $25.00.

By the way, Ryan helped me when I was collecting bats, he then helped me sell many of them for good prices, and earlier this year he (Crown) sold me one of my favorite flannels - a road NOB Etchebarren. Ryan, thanks yet again!

Thanks Mark I appreciate your response. I like that idea. However, I’m likely going to pay someone to construct something for me large enough to house all 18. I am terribly inept when it comes to using tools and I’d like to keep all of my fingers.

You've got a great collection and shouldn't have to pay much to get a great display. Here's what my main rack looked like - it held 30 bats.

Those Pirate teams were great. Won it all in 1960, 71, 79, each time in 7 games. And Clemente's 14 game hitting streak in World Series play.

Thanks, I like what you did with cards. I may use that idea.

Default Giants

This bat is in rough shape, especially on the ends. But it is a bat.
