"Help dating an old baseball":

1. Start with an opening line - something like, "My, what beautiful patina you have!" or "Do you find me funny? 'Cause it looks like you're in stitches!" or "Has anyone ever told you your blueish threads are TIGHT!?"

2. Be confident and direct...ask the ball for its number.

3. Take the ball out for a game, followed by a nice dinner.

4. Ask the ball if it would like to come back to your place...if you're lucky, you may be able to get to third base!

5. Just be yourself, but also be realistic. Grabbing balls at a flea market rarely turns out well for anyone! These relationships usually don't work out. No matter how much effort you put into it, hard balls tend to just lay there, nowhere near as interested in you as you are in them.

So...Go ahead and take the risk. After all, this could really be "the one!" If so, you'll consider it a "home run!"
