I figured that because of the 40 in the center label. Is my guess on year(s) made correct and any idea of value? I know it isn't much but I am hoping at least as much as I paid(not much).

I believe that you would evaluate a 40K the much the same way that you would a 125: Does the bat match the length/ weight on the player's bat orders? Does the knob have the length stamped on the knob? or is there evidence that the knob is hand-turned? if you had access to the bat order records, you would check to see if any orders mention 40K cork-gripped bats.
