I only ask as I have been opening both types of boxes and am finding the glow back versions in abundance within the cellophane packs (11 sometimes 12 GB's per 15 card pack, but never less than half). Not a bad thing as I would like to put a glow back set together. Has anyone else found similar results?
I remember a pallet of cello packs at a grocery store before seeing wax packs hit the market.

I had bought a bunch of the cellos, and noticed that some cards had the bold logo, while other didn't, but didn't think much of it at the time. Of course, I had no clue about the glow-back cards back then.

Hi-

I do not know if this information helps, but I figured I would share. I recently opened a factory sealed set. I did not get any earlier Topps cards. For variations, I got none of the dark logo backs, all of the E/Fs, none of the checklist variations, none of the rare border variants, none of the stat variations, and the Whiten has his hand in the border. Below is my Boyd as I am not sure which version it is.

As far as I know all of the factory sets are glow backs with no bold logo's.
Your Boyd is the pink banner tip over wrist. That variation is found on all glow backs the brown wrist over banner is found on all no glow backs.

Does anyone have images of the Dale Murphy variations? Trying to figure how convex and/or concave the border looks on these.

Also, I’m trying to sort what I think are at least two Jeff Kunkel variations where his cap crosses the frame, leaving either a blue ‘halo’ or other color on the top. Anyone else notice this one?

I think the Kunkel "halo" variations that you mention are just different color shifts. The blue and white "halo's" are by far the most common followed by no halo then red and the yellow is the least commom.

There is a minor variation on the Kunkel but it is related to which back it has.

All of the glow backs have a small white area in his hair while all of the no glow backs are absent of the white area.

I am in Canada, and until very recently never saw the 15-card cello packs. Back then wax for both topps & o-pee-chee. Just happened to pick up a couple of boxes at the spring Expo in Toronto. Thanks for your reply.
