That's very cool. I don't remember seeing one of those (at least in many years ).

He has a Speaker as well, although I don’t have a photo of it.

I've been seeing a lot of things I've never seen before lately; this DEFINITELY being one of them. Is it the only Leather set with the "L" Designation? Or is there an "L2" somewhere? What's something like this expected to bring at Auction? High $XX,XXX or we talking $XXX,XXX?

Default cool item

Always wondered...... was there any practical use for these based on the shape or is it just to hang on the wall? Rocky

I've always thought it was to imitate the shape of a full cowhide:

Cowboy diapers-- a precursor to Depends. Didn't catch on-- not very absorbent.

Hunt Auctions sold a nice one for $50K back in 2021:

Take a look at the non-sports side. The gallery there has pages for most L sets from L1-L56. http://www.moviecard.com/gallery/leathers/startup.html

My pleasure. If you want to venture into the light side of card collecting, take a look at the gallery in its entirety. It's not what everybody collects but there is so much variety. http://www.moviecard.com/gallery/showtime2.html

Of course, the L1s were the big premium of the group that included T3s and S81 silks. Not sure how many Turkey Red cigarette coupons needed to redeem to get these, but it was a lot. They do surface from time to time, and there have been some nice collections assembled over the years. Seems like a strange choice, and it would interesting to know the story. I've always loved the silks myself, they are so pretty.

Based on prior sales of some better conditioned examples, my guess is 10K to 15K for the Cobb.
