Gonna need to get a vaulted ceiling and put that awesome piece in there. So cool!

Pete Runnels was my favorite Washington Senator when I was a kid in the 1950's. It broke my heart when, after a poor 1957 season, Runnels was traded to the Red Sox. After some batting tips from Ted Williams, Runnels went on to hit over .300 in each of the 5 seasons he played for the Red Sox, winning AL batting titles in 1960 and 1962.

I have been avidly collecting Runnels cards and memorabilia ever since I began collecting again as an adult in the late 1980's. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to acquire this large, 32" x 48" point-of-sale advertising piece (I assume) for a rather-simplistic, batting-practice device that was endorsed by both Runnels and Dick Groat, the 1960 NL Batting Champion, and that hangs on the wall of my man cave, at an Anaheim NSCC many years ago. I have included pics of the Little Pro batting-practice device.

Val…that Runnels piece is so cool.

So many nice LARGE items being pictured thought I’d post a relatively large Orioles piece from The Baltimore Sun. Placed an 8x10 below to get a perspective.
