A very subjective question, LOL. I'm partial to the T3 Cobb or Speaker, N28 Anson, N43 Ewing. Happy New year, vwtdi |

As the premise started with your favorite player, my all time favorite player is Robin Yount, so that would mean the card would be his 75 Topps Rookie. |

Sorry, Boston Garters are some I hope to acquire in 2002....as far as a Christy ...he probably exists but I would have to defer the question to someone like Lew, Kevin Struss, or Terry Knouse Sr...they would know for sure.....best regards |

What are your favorite cards of your favorite players?

One of the players I have been collecting was Walt Dropo, who played for the Red Sox, White Sox, Tigers, Orioles and Reds (make that "Red Legs") between 1950 thru 1961. My family was friends with some of Mr. Dropo's family when I was growing up, so it was interesting to get his 1950 Bowman thru 1961 Topps cards to have an example of how different Bowman and Topps looked between those years. And since Dropo's cards are all commons, I was able to get decent condition cards of him for little $$. |

I'll sell you the ENTIRE 1915 Spalding set for only $500. It even comes in a special "collectors album" that looks very much like a book. The cards are glued in so professionally that they actually look like part of the page. |

Unfortunately, "Classic Baseball Cards" is out of print. Try second-hand bookstores (NOT sports stores, regular books), and check in on Amazon and Alibris once in a while (Amazon has the name listed, will let you know when they get one in). The book cost $80 new (It's HUGE, believe me, with all major sets between 1887=1955--except Topps); it should go for about $40. |

Never saw that one before. Thanks for posting it. I never thought I would see a poem about baseball cards, much less one that I found interesting. Could have included a third verse, however - about Joe Jackson and his Cracker Jack card. |
