The key to the series, IMHO, will be the play of Christian Guzman. The Twins absolutely must be aggressive on the basepaths and push down a lot of bunts, and he can do both extremely well when his head's in the game. Twins must keep the A's guessing on defense, and do what they can to create runs. This is my biggest beef with Gardenhire-- way too much station to station baseball. Runs will be at a premium, and the Twins' pitching will hold. Probably too late to tweak the lineup for righties now-- you've got to play Jones and Koskie, and the 1b is leftie either way. You might catch Prince over A.J. in one of the games, and Bobby Kielty would be a great move over either Mohr or Cuddyer, although they all hit from the right. Hold on, it's gonna be a great series- all tight games. |
