It is all in the numbers. 3000 hits + 3000 strikeouts. Boggs and Blyleven get in. The rest of the wannabees are now never wases. Except the Straw. Who can argue with three suspensions and an 11 mo. vacation with free room and board on the taxpayers.

If Mattingly had Dawson's HRs, or Dawson had Mattingly's BA; they would be Rice. Which is still is not good enough. We have sufficient dilution in the Hall. Go with the numbers.
