Default ??'s for black sox collectors

Posted By: davidcycleback

Dennis, you can collect Black Sox memorabilia in any fashion you wish. Though the focus will almost always been on Joe Jackson, Buck Weaver and other banned players, there are no rules and different Black Sox fans collect in different ways. A 1919 Reds yearbook or season pass would be popular at marked due to the association ... Interestingly, one of the gamblers involved in the fix was a man named Abe Attell. Attell was earlier a great boxer, world champion and there are quality boxing cards and other memorabilia for him ...

Due to the scarcity and value of the vintage Eight Men Out material, a new Black Sox collector on a normal budget shouldn't be too exclusive in his focus. Widen the fences and you will pick up more. While the collector waits for the Joe Jackson World Series jersey to show up on eBay, it wouldn't hurt to pick up a Attell boxing card or a Buck Weaver press photo to bide the time.
