It seems this board is dying on the vine, kind of a shame really. In an effort to contribute a hopefully halfway interesting thread, let's see how many cards of US Open champions we can put together. Should be an interesting week with Woods coming off a massive layoff. |

I agree - it'd be great to see some more activity on the golf board here. |

Great idea. This is considered Bobby Jones rookie card and 1926 was the 2nd of his 4 U.S. Open championships with 2 runner-up finishes in an 8 year span. Simply amazing! One of my favorite Bobby Jones cards. I've posted my 15 card Bobby Jones basic set on the SGC registry for those interested in checking it out go here (http://www.sgccardregistry.com/registry.aspx?cat=5). It is the last set selection in the "Other" category. |

Nice Tiger auto Doc. He played fairly well today. Mickelson is one crazy mother, not using a driver. |

Yeah, but he really struggled on the front 9. Hope he keeps it up. I pulled that card out of a box that I paid $60 for 3 or 4 years ago. It's a gem. |

Tiger wins so much my wife and I almost don't want to see him win again. He is a nice guy and deserves every bit of accolades he gets. He is simply the best golfer today and most likely ever...and that is saying a lot.....(only time will tell about the "ever" part but it almost seems like a foregone conclusion)......So do his cards go up in value when he wins? |

Upper Deck is no longer putting out golf sets. Add that to the fact that Tiger is other worldly popular and voila...instant shortage. The 2001 to 2005 issues are packed with autos and have outstanding photos of memorable moments. |

#1 vs #158. It's hard not to pull for Rocco a little bit. Either way, it's been good tv so far. |

1948(?) Kellog's Pep I believe. I always thought it was 1948, but I could be wrong. Fairly tough for a postwar issue. |

There are a couple with buy it nows on Ebay currently, one in vg for $150, and one in NrMt with staining for $400. Would you say these are fair prices? A bit high from where I'm sitting. |

You know I don't really know what they have been selling for lately. The SMR has them pretty high(last time I checked), but that doesn't really mean anything. If the more expensive one didn't have the staining the price might be about right, maybe a little less. |

I would be careful about paying $100 for a Pep....it might be the hype around the US Open or the golf ones (I don't know the golf one's values, even in general)...but the baseball ones go for about $10-$20 each in really nice condition (ex or better)..... |

This is from 2006(the last one I have). Don't quote me on this, but I think the Snead may be the most valuable card in the set. Prices could have come down a lot I guess, not sure. |

Man o Man....thats good money for a Snead Pep card. I know nothing about the golf ones but if the guide says it's that much then so be it...the baseball ones aren't anywhere near that much....I have 4-5 and paid about $10-$20 ea......This must be one of the few series where Golf will be mulitples of value of the baseball counterparts... |

The price may have something to do with the limited availability of Snead in other issues--not too many period pieces of golfers, let alone great ones. |

FWIW I have a Kelloggs Pep of Lloyd Mangrum in PSA 9 OC (pop report shows 8 total graded - 2 PSA3's, 2 PSA5's, 1 PSA6, 1 PSA7, 1 PSA8 and my PSA 9OC). |

I would never doubt that guy! Failed attempt at sarcasm. I knew he had to be hurting when Karlsson's caddie said he could hear Wood's knee making strange sounds during his backswing on Saturday. |
