I agree and was thinking the same thing. That's a 4 hour game today especially if it includes the Red Sox or Yankees.

Barry,

I've seen tape of the Kubek play. I can't recall the name of the film, but it featured commentary by Bob Prince.

Brian,
Detailed highlights of all 7 games are available in color thanks to Major League Baseball's World Series Films, produced by Lou Fonseca. I think that he produced 1/2 hour highlight films from the 1940's through the late 60's.
I had the 60 version on a videotape and later found it on a cd. I thought every Pirates fan had one, along with a green weenie and a babushka.

Yes, I have the 1960, 1971 and 1979 Pirate World Series highlights on the MLB-issued VHS tapes that I bought in the early '90's. Several years ago I bought the entire 1979 WS broadcast by ABC on DVD. Can't wait to see this 1960 WS 7th game on DVD too!

Pitchers worked much more quickly, there were fewer relievers, and because there were no pitch counts teams did not have the strategy of working the pitch count by fouling off pitches.
