Here's a few hoops cards from my stash that I just got back from SGC. Real happy about the grades!

Thanks guys! These were destined for PSA but hard to resist the $30 per card grading fee and 2-week turnaround! It might be years before PSA ever has a submission price under $150 per card.

Got this one in today. 4.5, but for the life of me I can't tell why. Beautiful card in my book.

I ordered some old Cricket tobacco cards from Thailand, and they came Monday. I ordered them all the way back in May, but I'm glad they came eventually.

I bought two complete sets, 1928 Wills and 1938 John Player and Sons. They're both 50 card sets, and they were each around $20 including shipping. My dad also bought a 1937 Will's Authors set, because it includes cards of two of his favorite writers, Hilaire Belloc and G.K Chesterton.

They're just absolutely beautiful cards.

Thanks. Had a chance three years to buy one for $600 that ended up grading a 6. One of my most egregious cheap skate moments. Needless to say I paid a multiple of that for this. Can't look back in anger, but can look back with regret. lol

Ditto, my friend, ditto. I figured I had plenty of time. Paid through the nose instead. At least I got the IA card early

Same here. Got Sam Jones about five years ago to get me to just Wilt. It had been those two for about ten years.

Default Natty Basketball Pickups

Some happy hunting at the National for Basketball. The '71 Wilt was the highlight of the entire convention for me!
The Garnett was a really pleasing find for my '95-'98 Garnett run as well.

Very underappreciated. A damn shame he didn't get elected to the HOF until 3 years after his death.

I've had a couple of nice returns from PSA lately (timely grading and accurate grades, if you can believe that), with this being one of my favorites.

Thanks Adam. The cards are nice and I actually kind of like the CSG holders . I guess the Celtic green works in this case.

That's for sure. How many HOFers literally were Saturday morning cartoon super heroes? Meadowlark and Curly.

These guys had potential too but squandered it on one-fer movies and never made the cut to Saturday morning cartoons...

I was inspired to get this cheap but cool Meadowlark.

Speaking of the Trotters, still magical.

I bought maybe the top 10 or so within the past couple of years. Great cards IMO. Some of the RCs are pretty low production.

Picked up a couple more raw hall of famers. Haven't defined exactly what my basketball collecting will be, but so far it's just hof'ers from 60-80's, and maybe some early 90's.

Bought the Kobe raw off ebay, pulled the LaMelo from a pack. Just back from SGC!

Got a complete full set of the 1989-90 Hoops in pristine condition minus the Pistons Champions card.. usually the Jordans are gone so felt pretty good about that... and I'm a big UConn men's fan.. working on getting a full set of UConn pros.

found this piece recently and had to have it. Never seen it before. Lots of wear on the seams. Basically, the mailer is a three-part that folds three times.

The address part with the Pollard (HOF) picture and the Cullom's Column is the outside.

Unfold it to regular paper size and there is a great Mikan image:

Unfold twice more and there is a three-sheet (four side) article on Mikan:

Dates to the pre-season of the 1948-49 NBL season, the first for the Lakers in what would become the NBA, 2nd year for Mikan.

Got the seller image of my two 1972 Dr J's. SGC is grading tough, thought that they both had a chance for a slightly better grade. Bought them raw on eBay, so just glad they measured up and weren't trimmed.
