Luke, Chris, Sonny...great cards!

I also like "mid-tier", or "2nd tier" for backs like Cycle, Old Mill, Tolstoi, Sov, EPDG, etc.

Great backs everyone. I am a front fellow myself, and probably don't deserve membership in the back fraternity, but I will share the two least common T206 backs that I have.

I have learned to live with and not disdain the stain on Griffith. And like Ted pointed out earlier with his Elite Eleven post, sometimes a Piedmont can be an exotic bird indeed, like my Factory 42 Street.

As Ringo Starr would sing.... "It Don't Come Easy".... this SOVEREIGN 460 card of Cobb is not an easy card to find.
I would consider it quite rare.

.

Red Cobb SOVEREIGN 350 is considerably easier to find.....but, tough.

Nice cards everyone!

I'd personally draw the line at Hindu...putting them just above that mid-tier category.

The scarcest back I've gotten thus far...Rube Geyer front. Or is it back? With T206 cards, the picture is on the back; the main attraction is the ad, right?

OK....this display may come close

I posted these backs alphabetically, since I don't agree that a couple of them are in the correct order on that list.

Default T206 A - B - C - D connection

T206 dudes......

Are you in for a different challenge ? Try putting together an American Beauty - Broad Leaf - Cycle - Drum backs connection.
American Litho printed 190 subjects in their 350-only Series of the T206 set with these 4 rare backs.

I have yet to find the blue Chase with the DRUM back. I'm an optimist; therefore, I expect that it will eventually be discovered
for me to complete this tough A - B - C - D connection.

Furthermore, you can up this challenge by including the desired subject's 1910 COUPON card (there are 48 subjects to choose from).

My take is that off back has become popular with people doing binder sets and aiming to have them be anything but Piedmont or Sweet Cap. Not too many people want to have the true rare backs in a binder, so I think the off back generally has cards split into three groups without any real groups of the backs beyond "rare": 1) Piedmont/Sweet Cap, 2) Off backs = Tougher than Piedmont/Sweet Cap up to Hindu, 3) Rare backs = Hindu and tougher.

And here are some of mine that would fall into that rare category.

Never pursued the T206s with any great vigor. Have maybe a quarter of the set, half of them being all the New York Giants. Was always happy to get one that wasn't a Sweet Cap or a Piedmont. Got a kick out of the designs and the typography. As for the esoterica and the rarities I mostly left that for others. Even so, perusing this thread has been a treat. To this awesome gallery humbly submitted are a few of my non-Sweet Cap/Piedmont T206s. One or two might even qualify as rare backs.

Default Exclusive 12 red HINDU run

Thirty-five subjects from the 350/460 Series were printed with HINDU backs. They are very difficult to find. To date, 32 have been confirmed.
Only 12 subjects from the 460-only Series were printed with HINDU backs. This group of T206's are a bit easier to find with the HINDU back.
Therefore, I took the easy way out and put together this "Exclusive 12" run......starting with these 3 cards.

THIS RUN IS CONTINUED IN NEXT POST
