Here's my latest T206's addition. I"m still not 100% sure about how I want to build my set. I'll never be able to afford those crazy rare backs, but I want some diversity. So, I plan on picking up Tolstoi's, EPDG's and AB's (although I don't have an AB yet) when I can:

Default Lot's of new cardboard for me this month...

Freed some funds this past month+ and put it right into cards (much more fun than an IRA contribution right??). Most were purchased in Nov, but many of these met me at home last night when I returned from a couple weeks on the road.

A pair of BST pick ups,
Thank you Richard for my first Big Ed, and thank you Peter for this nice, and now raw Cy (Sov back)
N300 Ed Delahanty.jpgT205 Cy Young.jpg

The Weaver and Ott from LOTG (couldn't be happier with auction and quick shipment)
T212 Buck Weaver.jpg1929 R316 Kashin Mel Ott rookie.jpg

And from Ebay- R312 Joe D, finally got a Moe Berg, and E220 Collins

Beautiful pickups, Ian...love the Weaver and "Bid Ed", lol. You weren't messing about that part...that's brutal!

You should go away more often if you rake these type of cards as a result of it

Beautiful cards, Ian. Congratulations! I especially like the DiMaggio.

You're going to make me want to PC Cocky Collins. I just know it.

Thanks guys

Mike- I only wish going away equaled cards! given I normally travel 50% or more during the year. I'm pretty fired up on the Weaver, low grade or not, it was a must have for this SFer. I really like the Big Ed too and it's probably my big pick up of the year, along with my Mays (another board purchase).

Bill- I really like that Joe D image too, so classic. That pick up was definitely in large part fueled by a recent R312 thread on the board. On the opposite end, I'm falling in love with those teens/20's B&W cards. Until maybe a year or two ago, I'd never considered them, but they've really really grown on me and are a nice counter balance to all those great colors in other sets.

Steven- that's awesome! The beauty of collecting a set w/ consistent sizes!! And all in their pure cardboard form!!

I'll be hard pressed to come up with a pretty exhibit for my HOF rookie collection that will be ever-growing and ever-morphing!

Very nice poster Steven - what a great way to celebrate finishing that set!

Do you have one of the original Cracker Jack boxes or did you just get that picture from the internet?

Thanks guys. I pulled it from the internet and stuck it in there to fill the extra space of 2 cards are kept the integrity of the dimensions pretty close. I'd love to find an original box!

Just received from the last Hake's. Portion of a 1935 Negro League Broadside, of the Chicago American Giants. Features HOFers Willie Wells, Bill Foster, Mule Suttles, and Turkey Stearnes. Normally, I don't collect anything that has been cut-out from a larger piece, but made an exception here. It's about the size of a cabinet or a large postcard. Pretty pleased!

Super excited to get my favorite E103. The color and overall eye appeal of this card is insane. The scan doesn't do it justice. I'm glad it has the spot of paper loss or it would've been way out of my budget.

I am fairly new to the boards and while I have collected baseball cards and memorabilia most of my life I have just recently started to enter into the pre-war arena, thought I would add a couple of my latest pick ups

Luke, great looking E103! I bid on it as well. I had to do a double take to find the paper loss. Excellent eye appeal.

Just picked this up last night at the Philly Show. My first major pick-up at a show since the Gehrig Exhibit RC that I bought from Dave at Bagger's Sportscards at a Philly Show last year.

Phil, very nice imperial cabinet, great way to pick-up four HOFers with one purchase. Do you mind sharing who you purchased it from and any history you are aware of? Congrats.

Always happy to add another Gibson to my collection.

This one came from the most recent Collectible Classics auction. This was my first time bidding with them, and I have to say that I was quite happy with their customer service, their speed of shipping and how well protected everything was in the package.

Regards,

Richard.
