Thanks J0n. I do love collecting them raw. I've cracked about 10-15% out of TPG slabs. For this project raw is definitely better.

Default Chasing after the Chase

Babe Ruth once claimed that Hal Chase was the best 1st baseman of his era that Ruth had ever seen. Well, that was good enough for me. So, when
I started collecting T206 cards in 1980, my first T206 was this Blue portrait of Chase. And I'm still collecting them. Especially searching for Hal Chase
with a DRUM advertisement.

................... reprint ...................

And, I'll throw into this mix my T 216....same picture, just a change in color and a change in teams

Default t206 question

I don't have a hoard...yet... 24 total t206s since my start last month.

Anyways, I have been scouring the web and net 54 archive to find any relevant information to my question. I want to know if my "white cap" Matty piedmont 350 series is actually as rare as the POP reports say. I just sent in my Matty to SGC. I recently received the grade 40/3 and looked at the pop report. What caught my eye is that the piedmont 350 series only had 8 submissions, while the 150 series has had 60 submissions. SGC deemed my Matty the only SGC 40/3 they have graded to date for the piedmont 350 series. I know what the prices go for when it is a piedmont 150 series but haven't found any recent/relevant sales on Cardtarget.com for the piedmont 350 series.

My other questions are why are there less piedmont 350 series Mattys than the 150 series? If so, I am wondering it that will that effect the value of it?

Thank you,

Colby

Default 150 v 350

I know this Keeler I have is more difficult than the 150 because I read about it many years ago on here and specifically looked for 350. I paid like $40 for it. I don't think there is a premium. The T206 guys are making all this stuff known, so maybe in the future....

Interesting... It seems like more people I know are starting to catch on to the different backs and variations better. Perhaps it is because of more information like you mentioned. I think the future we will see a price change. Only eight Mattys have been graded through SGC from the 350 series so I do not see why it wouldn't be considered rarer...? Oh well, I was just curious. Thanks though.

Default My Entire T206 Collection

I decided it was time to take a few pictures of my T206 collection. I had hoped to get every card in one shot by placing them all on the dining room table, but my estimates were wrong. It took about two full tables rather than one. Overhead lighting and light from outside caused some issues, but you get the gist.

Second group:

Third group (found a stack laying around after I took the 2nd image):

Default No T206s hoards here!

My "hoards" have been scattered across North America via eBay and other sales. Just have my fake Frank Chance which I will send to PSA someday to confirm my thoughts about it.

Default Mrvster...thanks for asking...

I picked it up a few years ago as part of a lot from Huggins & Scott:

http://feb09.hugginsandscott.com/cgi...l?itemid=11417

Always thought it was kinda cool, but never thought about how rare it might be. The recent posts on Net54 reminded me that I had it. Can't beat this site for knowledge!
