When they opened a 1952 Bowman pack on YouTube (which they valued at $20K), the gum stuck to one of the cards. I wonder if heating it or freezing it would have made the gum let go?

Just chiming in quickly to identify myself as the seller of all the high end packs from 1933 to 1970. I agree with all of your comments and respect you for your opinions. Stop by at the National anyway to see my unopened display packs - you don’t need to buy a thing - just enjoy.

But you will also see that I have been doing this for 50+ years and packs are just a small part of my display. I sell cards from the early 1900s to the 1970s for all sports and non sports. I sell wrappers and empty wax boxes too. I just made 5 more binders of baseball cards and non sports cards to add to my over 30 binders that I have completely revised for display - check out my 8 binders of wrappers. I focus on vintage items only - so it’s unlikely you will find any cards from post 1978 in my booth.

Just so you know, I have most packs of all sports from 1933 to 1970 in my own collection. I just sell my dups. If I suspect a pack has been opened and resealed, I would not buy it for resale. If I see a fold on a wrapper that I suspect is suspicious, I don’t buy it. I stick to my standards.

OMG notice that the genius who opened that 1952 Bowman pack ruined the wrapper by tearing it apart. If you are going to open a rare pack, then at least treasure the wrapper itself and not just the cards.

I know! I couldn’t believe that either. Just dumb!
