I use and encourage anyone with any sizeable amount of incoming cards of value to get a PO Box at USPS Post Office, not a franchise box. Your mail will be waiting on you, instead of you waiting on it.

The biggest percentage of loss/theft from USPS, UPS and Fed/Ex does not come while in transit from hub to hub, but while out for delivery, either due to theft or mis delivery. A PO Box eliminates the vast majority of possible misdoings.

And if you make friends with your postal clerks/Postmaster you will be amazed at how helpful they can be if something does go off track. They have a separate tracking system that can locate a package and even tell you what bin number it is in!

My agent sent me this when I bought the policy, limits may have slightly increased, I think mine is pretty routine. (They may want to rethink the Fed Ex lol.)

You are covered up to $60,000 when using Registered Mail, Express Mail or Fedex signature required.

Covered up to $2500 using USPS insured, certified and signature confirmation mail and UPS.

The auctions are diluted as there's one a month, but Brian has really done REA proud. My only continuing criticism: no orange tape on the packages (esoteric Mastro joke that used to be funny).
+1
It was the best night of the year - every year!

Only if the individual responsible for putting the mail in the p.o. boxes isn't completely inept. I can't tell you how many pieces of mail for other people's boxes I've found in my own, not to mention the mail I'm expecting that doesn't ever seem to arrive.

How difficult is this? It requires one working eye, one working arm and a second grade reading comprehension.

Mistakes happen, even to the best of us.

Right... REA was already "king of the hill" back when Brian bought it. I still remember the chat room here on net54 on those late REA auction nights. Some real characters like Wonka, Rob D. and Joanne (in addition to yourself) with all the snarky comments. Fun times!

Would be great if the AH would not include the name of their AH on the shipping label so it’s not in plain sight on the packages being sent out. Just something I’ve always thought of that perhaps could help in minimizing theft of packages sent by them. Now I can’t be certain that it is not already being done since I don’t bid or buy from AH. But it would be easy to know who its from if the label for example read “ Joe Blow Sports Auction House “

On my shipping label from REA, it reads as coming from "Shipping Manager."

I think Heritage's says "Customer Service," but I'm not positive.

One auction house comes to mind as having boxes printed with its name on the outside in big letters. Guess the owner figured he's getting free advertising.

It's too bad the courier companies would frown on yellow "Biohazard: Medical Waste" stickers.
