Frank, that is one beautiful room you have there. What's your plans going forward when you run out of wall space...and will you adopt me? LOL

Frank! This is a beautiful room. So happy to finally see it all put out on display. Love the few times we've partnered on some good HOF runs in the past. I look forward to see the additional videos you put out.

Hank, There are only ten known bf2 premiums, with no wajo. And unfortunately I don't own a S81 of him. Here are a few more updated pictures.

Incredible collection! I guess I was thinking of the large multi-premium display that contains a WaJo along with several others. Is that a BF2-related item? The S81s are so gorgeous, my WaJo is one of my favorite pieces.

It's funny that some rooms resemble museums (those of Brendan, Bob, Tony, Frank, etc.) and others (like mine) look more like flea markets.

I'm typically holed up on the pennant thread but since I just added another wall I figure it's time for an update here. (Also I am filling in gaps with mini pennants.)

Mark the turnstile is definitely from 1909. I’m not sure if the ticket box, it could be 1909 or later.

Finally...
After selling our last house, then moving into an apartment a couple years ago for about 18 months while building our new house, we finally settled into the new place last year. My wife insisted that I have my own 'sports room' and I decided not to argue with her. I strived to keep it somewhat simple and I wanted some old front load display/china cabinets for the added antique feel when displaying my stuff. I still have a few empty spots on the walls, but it's pretty close to being finished......for now.

Nothing stamped on the bat. I found it out in Hershey at their Antique Automobile swap meet a few years ago. Might be some sort of old store display or folk art piece?
Yes, it's an early Spalding stick. Quite rare from my research. Also, I posted the old 1905 hockey team photo hanging on the wall below the stick. Love the socks! |

better pics...
Mark...........Here's a few more pics as you requested. Not everything is sports as there's a small and very rare porcelain 1912 Michigan motorcycle license plate and a Woodstock ticket flanking an OAL baseball in it's original box.
In another case are a few more full size Michigan porcelain plate sets. My Dad is into automotive advertising and brass cars, so I kind of reach into those genres sometimes, too. Also, I've posted it before, but I love my Chicago Whales team photo with that field at the corner of Clark and Addison. Matt |

The models made before 1904 sport a grooved handle, the later models do not. I have seen only four examples of this stick previously - five now with yours - including three that I have owned (two were sold at auction, and I still have a high grade NOS example in my collection). The photo is interesting as well... Westmount is an affluent area of Montreal famous for a number of early Hall of Fame members who were either born or raised in the area including Sprague Cleghorn (the toughest and most violent player in history), Art Ross and the Patrick brothers (Lester and Frank). ..... I also forgot to mention in my first post, great room! I love the set up and displays. Last edited by Huysmans; 08-05-2021 at 10:24 AM. |

Mark and Brent........Thanks for your kind comments and interest.
Brent, I believe my Shamrock stick has the 'scored' handle, as there are many long, parallel grooves on all 4 sides. Matt |
