Thanks & nice pickup
I was pleasantly surprised with the variety at the show, as modern cards do tend to dominate. For the first time in a while, the material available was
close to 50/50. The dealer I purchased from had a large selection of raw and graded issues, including T206, T205, E90-1, E101, and R319. They had some 19th century items too, but I didn't make it to that end of their table.

Didn't realize that. It took me a few minutes to figure out whose name it was and just posted it up before thinking about any distinguishing characteristics linking the two players.

Thanks for the info (and cool penant!)

The Merkle is one of the tougher ones in that set. Nice pickup!

Thanks, Doc - same here!
Haha @ the Kawika reference - gotta love his avatar, huh?

Pack fresh front, but I guess it sat in the pack for a while because the Old Mill reverse has some faint paper loss lines from the packaging... so it's only a 40/3. Fine by me!

Very nice Trae !! You've been picking up some nice ones lately Also liked Jaybird's pick ups also- love T206's

This one just arrived from RayBShotz on the B/S/T- he was great to deal with, a smooth transaction. My scanner sucks, and never does the cards justice.....but this one is very nice for the grade.

Default Tango Egg Ty Cobb! Super Rare Card!

I recently had a very nice find of t213-II Coupon Tobacco cards.
The seller, who was from Metaire, LA., also had some Cracker Jacks a General Baking and This Ty Cobb with a Tango Egg back.

The card had previously been rumored to exist, but apparently had never been seen, at least not by the masses.

I have already sold the card, and I believe it is now in a SGC 10 Holder.
Condition wise, truly a card only a mother could love, but what a rarity!!

Here it is: Ty Cobb Tango Egg Back!

Default Best Pick Up of the Year So Far

Thanks to B& L for the latest addition in my E98 set, but no offense Leon and Scott, but my best pick up of the year so far was the card my 6 year old son Tyrus created for me. It is a vintage 2011 Postcard size, unused! And I bet it would grade at least a 20!

Default 1912 Rohrer Zeenut

Picked up a 1912 John H. "Dad" Rohrer Zeenut on eBay earlier tonight.

With this pick-up, I only need to upgrade a 1912 Walter Boles Zeenut, and then a 1912 Claude Berry Zeenut to complete my run of catcher pose cards in the 1912 Zeenut set.

Default better late than never

Great cards, guys--motivation to keep the flame burning! Especially liked Jeff's 1926-1929 Exhibits Cobb and 1916 Mordecai (Three-Finger) Brown, and David B's 1923-1924 Exhibits Genewich (tough cards, those '23-'24's. Maybe someday I'll bump into the Ruth, at a time when I can afford it).

I was wondering, Jeff, if your collecting focus is the same as mine: stars and hall-of-famers, in the best condition you can find or afford? I would assume the yellow-toned Cobb is pretty tough to find.

With best regards,

Larry

Went through your SGC Card Registry. That is a great assembly of cards. Much luck with your continued pursuit.
I'll keep watching.
