Default '39 Salutation Exhibits...

I haven't looked too hard at exhibit cards until I picked these up last week from a local card shop. Not in the best condition, but I like the rarity.........Matt

A slow month otherwise but my thanks to my pal Jim Rivera for this super pick-up, a handsome Uzit backed T206 Steinfeldt.

Nice S/L T206.....if the back is as nice as the front, I'd guess V/G-E/X 4.......

It's not really a card, but for some reason I find it more relevant here than in the memorabilia forum.

Nice going Andrew (PUP6913). All I need is any Drum back and the Hoblitzell no stats to complete my set. You almost picked up both at the same time.

Default Two of my newest...

Recently, I've been able to pick up many different Zeenuts that I needed including 1913, 1916, 1917, 1919, 1921, 1922, 1931, 1932, 1933 Sepia, and a 1937-38. However, I was really hoping to find a "Chief" Johnson (1916, 1917, or 1918) and I got LUCKY!!! I don't know if it is even rare, but I really am interested in this guys story! Plus, I got lucky that this Satchel Paige premium popped up...Thanks to a few board members!!!

Default $ Shield Postcards

Great cards, guys! I love to see those Chief Meyers cards, Mike. Also that cool T205 Drum of Hoblitzel and T206 Uzit back Steinfeldt. I finally got around to posting something. Found these 3 from 3 different sellers:

Thanks to 36triples for dealing with me on these P2 LLs. The last time I put the P2 pin set together the only one missing was Titus LL so it was nice to see it for sale.

Default Second purchase of the new year arrived before the first...

Number 170 in the rebuilt collection.

Photobucket

Was originally listed Monday on eBay as part of a 129 card lot. Within the first ten minutes of the listing, I contacted the seller to ask if he would be willing to pull this one and sell individually. Gave him the address for this site and told him to see what I was trying to do. Within 20 minutes, he e-mailed back to let me know in a minute or two, he was listing it as a BIN. It arrived today.

Way to think outside of the box, Ed. Congrats on the pick up. I will have to use that strategy on my next type card I want to buy .

Another vintage pickup to go next to my Lajoie T206. This was on my wantlist for the last 6 months on ebay and finally found a nice one at the Tri Star Show today. Great contrast in the photo and a nice mostly clean back too. It was in a PSA 2 holder, but it possible could get a .5 bump. I plan on sending to BGS because I prefer their holders for my collection and the PSA holder it was in had a price tag on the back of the holder that would have been very difficult to remove anyways. Here's my new Old Judge for my pc:

He is not a HOFer, but definitely better than a common and a great player in the time period, just not good enough for the hall (barely).

Default The first purchase of the new year arrived. Finally.

Photobucket

And by finally, I don't mean the mail service was slow or anything. Jeff let me know back in May, 2008 that he had this card, and was willing to trade for a comparable card. Nearly three years later, it joins the collection. #171.

And no, Jeff wasn't difficult or anything. It just took me that long to find one and get back in contact with him. Jeff was great to work with. Thanks, Jeff.
