Thanks Paul. You and I know firsthand how much a little paper loss on the back will bring a card down. Case in point, the m116 Cy Young I bought from you. Had perfect centering and sharp corners that SGC graded a 2 due to a fraction of paper loss on the back.

By my count, I'm the 20th to congratulate Jeff for his fantastic pick ups!
But Jeff, what I really want to know is, how could you refrain from picking up the Boston Garter of WaJo to go along with the BG of Cobb?

I never really liked the strip cards very much, but this is one way to pick up an early Ruth at a reasonable price. Plus, the card actually has better colors than seen in the picture.

Wait, Pete, is that your second 1915 Ruth PC? I recall you posting one a little while ago, this is a different/second one? If so, you are an absolute beast (you’re a beast anyway even if its your only one).
And thanks all for the kind words. Last edited by Rhotchkiss; 08-20-2018 at 04:38 PM. |

From what I can recall, Frederick Foto was a Northern California company and was the photographer of the Sacramento Senators. Many of the cards in the set picture PCL players, so that makes sense. Last edited by Baseball Rarities; 08-21-2018 at 01:28 AM. |

Yes, I think that Kevin has it right on this issue. The cards are very scarce. I believe only a few Ruth's have been graded by SGC and PSA. Love the pose, size of the card and the image of him with a bat in a Red Sox uniform.

Thanks guys! This is luckily my second one. Orlando my plan wasn't to get one per son lol, but that would be great! I traded Ethan my Frederick Foto for the PC, so it worked out well for both of us. Ethan that's a fantastic card.
Ryan, and everyone, super pickups this month. The hobby is doing well in August! |
