Default Sandy Koufax Authentic?

What do you think of this? Is the signature authentic? I love the photo shot, but the signature is light?

Looks like a perfectly good Sauly, from what you can see.

Faded right off the photo. I have several displayed that are completely gone, so at least you can barely see it ...for now.

Thanks all. Chuck knows I pinch pennies (sometimes too much) :-)
In this case I really love the action shot...

I went ahead and picked it up for $40. Maybe it is worth less, but I love the action shot. Does anyone recognize this seal that is in the bottom right hand corner? Thanks everyone!

I don't, but mine was originally a scoreboard item. Came in some big wood "dual picture" plaque with a Nolan Ryan 8 x 10 called Strikeout kings? or something like that?.

I have it displayed prominently in my home office, sans the plague and the Ryan. Enjoy!

I'd go ahead and just trace over the signature with a new, blue sharpie. Will add years to the life of the photo.

Nice Sandy.

Those plaques were one of the worst ideas of the era. Can't believe how people gobbled them up at the time.

Nice Sandy.
I think I will make a copy of it to display. Might slow down fading on original. I do this often with my displays - and put original behind it. Do folk trace over original autographs? I guess for $40 it isn't a question of value....

I have never traced over a sig as it ruins the value and never looks as fluid and nice as the original. For $40, I guess the value doesn't matter much, but still every time i looked at it i would know and it would bother me.
I do often display copies of items, but would not place the original behind it. Having something pressing on the surface of the original would degrade it as well.

Thought you guys might like this...I got the original in the mail and it was indeed faded. Looking straight on you could see it about 4' away. From the side, barely it all. As mentioned I display copies and store originals. So, I asked my computer wiz son if he could do something to darken the gold signature. We scanned the photo (it was an actual photo). He took the faded signature off the copy...fooled around with it's graphics and then put it back on. The file was huge and was only limited by the scanner and printer. As you can see, this is close to what it looked like when Sandy signed it with a gold pen. I matted it and put the original behind it. I think he did and awesome job. We have an "original" unfaded with the original safe. Kids today are amazing....the graphic program he used look like a complicated F35 cockpit. And he said it took him 5 minutes
