Default July Pickup Thread

Managed to win these 2 the last 2 nights on eBay. I've never been much of an autographed card guy but an E96 autographed Hall of Famer was too good to pass up. The D311 Howard is another indication of the fact that tough cards are becoming available and obtainable at good prices if you can sort through the muck on ebay and find the bargains.

Steve- nice pickup. I would think the number of Hallas available now are almost nil with our recent pickups. Glad you are very close to completion.

Steve,
Where did you pick up the Halla? Auction or a private sale?

Halla came through a trade. I gave up my Frank Chance 1917 Zeenut along with a number of other choice Z's. We're both happy with the trade.

Looks like a square deal. Well if you only have the Bernard and Fullerton left, you must have a Bill Lindsay. There is only 2 on the SGC registry (I got one of them) and none on the PSA registry. Is yours the other? Any theory why he is so rare as opposed to the other 1911 Zeenuts except Bohen?

coug- That's one of the few cards I still need in the 1911 set. If you decide to let it go for cash or trade, let me know, I'd be interested. I have the Home Run Kisses Lindsay but not the 1911 Zeenut.

Yes I have the only other one. The theory, postulated by Matt The Mod, is that family members have been actively collecting them ala Brian Miller.

Default Love this Matty

This beauty arrived last week, and it immediately has become one of my favorites. My first S81 silk too. I'm thinking of having it framed.

Beautiful Matty! Get it framed with absolute, postive, no-conditions-otherwise-acceptable orders that it not be trimmed in any manner to fit a frame.

Got a t205 Cobb for a bargain. My first t205 HOFer. Building this set is a long-term project, but this is the most encouraging news I've had in a while.

Default Got my first Piedmont Factory 42!

I bought a few lots of T206 on ebay and was shocked to see that the Snodgrass "Piedmont back" was a 350-460 Factory 42! My cost... $10.

Picked up a cornerstone for my collection although it cost me a pretty penny. This is, from what I've been told, 1 of 2 known original Gypsy Queen countertop displays.
