Good Morning Everyone

A very long night for some of us with the Love of the Game Auction

Just curious how did you do?

Any surprises in your opinion on things that went higher or lower than you thought in price?

I was the underbidder on a raw 1927 WS game 1 ticket stub which I need to complete the 1927 WS run. It went for $3,250. I am kicking myself I did not win slabbed version a year ago for $1,400 range also on LOG.

I was hoping to pick up a bunch of the T207 tough backs, but it looks like I was the underbidder on a half-dozen on them. I did pick up the Bender and McGraw, and a T200.

In looking at the items and prices realized I think this might have been Big Al's best auction. Congrats to him, the consignors and the lucky winners. I struck out on the lots I was interested in.

Super happy with the prices realized on my consignments, great Cracker Jack's, made a run at the Alexander but bowed out at the end.
Picked up the Cobb/Wagner PC796.

Agree , strong prices on most everything I was looking at. Think I ended as underbidder on the mantle 1951 rc. Ruth stuff was strong! And postcards!

Really great selection and strong prices. I’m hoping I’ll add something cool in Fall.

Default VERY strong prices!

Even on not so "big name" stuff! For a market that is supposedly "softened", you wouldn't know it from looking at REA and LOTG finishes!

I was after a few 1914 CJ's and T207 Carey for the team sets my kids and I are working on. The mid grade CJ's went considerably higher than I expected as did the SGC 6 Carey. I ended up winning the 2.5 Carey and PSA 2 CJ Adams.

I am actively buying and selling vintage sports cards graded and raw. Feedback as a buyer: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297262

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

Default First timer, thx Al!

Although I missed out on all of Foxxy choices (33 Delong, 41 Playball or 33 Tattoo orbit) I connected with Al who was super patient with my rookie auction questions - I’ll be ready next time

Thx Al - and congrats to the winners. Sadly, back to EBay for me 😬

Was more than a little delighted with the results of my consignments. Al continues to run one of the most profession and honest auctions in the hobby, and I will to continue to favor him with the bulk of my cards for sale.
On the other side of the equation, I was fortunate enough to pick up: the Yum Yum Dealsey, the Berk Ross Jackie, E94 Cicotte, '50 Bowman Williams and the Wilson Franks Williams.
Thanks, Al, for yet another great auction.

Dan, congrats on the McGraw, looks like we were bidding each other up. I also struck out on all the more rare t207 backs. I ended up adding another T200 and was excited to snag another tough t210 Winchester to add to the collection.

Yoda: I was your competitor on the Wilson Frank Ted Williams. It's a dandy of a card and the grade was in my stratosphere. Bailed before it got crazy expensive. Congrats. The card is gold.

Jeff: The T210 Goostree was my lone consignment. It's a cool card. Am glad it found a home with the other Winchester players.

That's a very cool Star Trek 35th Shatner-Nimoy card! Don't look now, but some of the auto and sketchfx cards from that set can get kind of pricey. Yours is awesome. If I didn't have these, I would be darned envious! I got the Joanne Linville (Romulan Commander) at Comic-Con in San Diego a few years ago. My Shatner-Nimoy plaque I got at Tate's Comics in Ft Lauderdale. Nice pick-up sir!

Thanks James! Yours are so cool! It’s fun that this hobby can extend into so many different areas. I’m a huge baseball fan and card collector of the vintage stuff but certainly enjoy some of the entertainment industry items as well. I’ve been watching Star Trek since I was a little kid and I’m glad that these cards are available for me to enjoy. So happy to pick this up.

Small potatoes compared to most of the pickups here, but he was my favorite player when I was a kid, and it’s my first Venezuelan Topps.

Default 34g

I went for (and won) the near set of 34 Goudey.
It fit nicely since I have most of the cards it was missing.

My other bids were not even close, but that’s okay… a strong auction is generally good for all of us on this board!

They all were strong, and that was why I grabbed the SGC 20 Moran. The Overall was really strong as well for just an "A" grade. You did well!

2 wins for me including the boston store Marquard PSA 7 and another that really moves one of my sets a ton! Missed out on a few that fell to the side because of the other wins but can't wait to get the invoice so I can pay and get the cards!!

Congrats to all!

No wins here , price were strong. Dietsche Cobb Batting PSA 2 for over $ 10K. I sold one with a higher grade before the big price increases for under $2k not that long ago. Ouch !

Phil, wonder if the CJ Alexander was so strong because many thought it was his rookie card, when we know it is the T222 with that great pitching pose. The Speaker was also gangbusters. What a terrific card.

The Alexander is a tough card especially in good condition and a key card in the set, I think there were a couple of set builders that needed that card.

Troy I think I was your under bidder on the Boston Store Rube. I got the Rixey but would love to have scored Rube and that sweet Roush card too. That Marquard was just a beauty. Congrats!
