Default Ty Cobb Auto

I'm sure a lot of you guys have seen this auto dollar bill on ebay, I was hoping to get some opinions on an auto as unique as this one. I'm not sure if it's worth the 2,000 starting bid, but the coolness factor keeps grabbing me.

While I agree this is a unique item , I would not want it for my collection especially at that price. Unless you want the unique I would always go for more classic format for my signatures .

You can get an authentic quality cobb signature at about half that. Not seen a Cobb where he spelled out the date month. Not saying its not possible just never seen one.

I have this one available if you want it. Price is $1500 firm NET to me via paypal. Includes a full LOA from JSA if that is important for you.

It is a fantastic Cobb letter written on several of his personal note cards. Shows an intensely personal side of the Peach.

"I am going to ward off with God's help the "bow out" or final curtain as long as possible." Even the great Ty Cobb recognized his own mortality. $1500

You can always pick up Cobb checks with a signature PSA 8 or 9 for around 800 to 1000. Just sold a PSA encapsulated mint 9 a few weeks for 930 myself. By far my favorite Cobb is a letter as he was a prolific letter writter and his content is quite often a very interesting read and a favorite of Cobb fans. Very nice to display as well IMO.

Sorry Lou, I only have one left and it was made out on my birthday and I am sort of attached to it, but if you go to ebay you can find them pretty frequently, they normally are PSA encapsulated. You can feel pretty safe with a check especially one that either PSA or JSA has looked over due to the high difficulty of forging it. Not to mention Cobb was a stickler about his finances. From what I have read he most likely slept with his check book so he could keep track of his money.
