Of course I will play...but there are tons of folks who have nicer collections....it's all about enjoying what we have and what we do....The camaraderie is a large part of the hobby for me....

This is probably the scarcest type card I can offer up to this thread. Lots of cards have been found that are missing certain colors to them causing them to end up in a totally different color. I've never heard of any card that had a color added the way this F50 Smith has. Harrington's, as are Tharps, Sweetman's and essentially anything with an ACC Designation of F-50 are ALWAYS found in black and white. Here you can see that both the front and even the font on the reverse is all in green.

I remember asking the board after I acquired this if anyone had ever seen any others and only one person replied with a confirmation of owning a second green F50. Sort of makes me hope that one day, a blue e107 or an orange t209-2 turns up...that would be really cool too!

That was me Brian, I own one now and this one was mine too. I started printing them in my basement as green hoping to create a new rare type card. I was going to add the Old Put and Toy Town overprints to them but I ran out of ink. Dan.

W514 "Mother's Bread" version. I've been told
by a couple of sources there is only one other
Weaver with this back known in the hobby.

I covet Rhett's Demaree pin...the only Phillie in the ornate set.

One of my favorite Phillies...only seen one other Dooin (there is a Mack in the set that I have seen a few times).

Leon,

It is standard postcard size with a postcard back. Thick postcard stock. They are finally listed in the new SCD big book on page 278. I have had this one for about 15 years.

Joshua

In keeping with my Dooin theme...
This is a fairly recent purchase from a board member who knows my affinity for Phillies...never seen another one like it. It is the University of Pennsylvania freshman boys baseball schedule. It features the Phillies Captain, Dooin. Rather small...it is about the size of a standard schedule of today except square.

Always been a Set collector more than a Type collector, but here's one:

(Hubbell is a common in this set, but the other 21 cards...)

[linked image]

Since this board seems to be in "full disclosure mode" today, here's mine. I will revert to being a Set collector the second I find the 4 cards I'm missing.

Frank, I would bet your Riddle card is either 1946 or 47 since it looks like he's wearing an Indianapolis cap.

Frank, it's possible it could be earlier than that...Riddle played for Indianapolis from 1928-37...Riddle looks kind of old though and that's why I thought maybe it was from his last stint with Indy in 46-47.

Ted does have a Foxx from the same set as the Ruth and Gehrig above:

Do you know what set these are from?

I love this set:

The cards are all the same size.

If anyone has cards for sale from this set, please let me know. Sorry if I broke policy.

Hal, no one knows what set the Ruth, Gehrig, and Foxx are from. There's another thread that shows all known cards. They came in strips, but could possibly have been cut out of some kind of display piece.

geez...steve...I had a feeling you'd have that kinda stuff tucked away...very nice. I'll be happy with the primary 6 e94's...forgoing the orange(if it exists) and the grey. Unless I see one of those e97 b/w's for a fair price!

These are not in my Phillies collection but reside in my personal collection nonetheless. I recently cataloged a variation in this set that finally got put into the Standard Catalog. Still looking for other Ballantine Coasters from this set.
