I believe this is a W511 1926 strip card of Babe Ruth. There are 5 variations to this W511 card. In the Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards, lists the card as the first, the black & white #1 card. I did the White Plains in N.Y. last week & someone was trying to sell a raw Ruth in this version. I took the card over to SGC & they couldn't authenticate the card.

Thanks for the quick response. I wonder why SGC would not grade it? Hand cut?

SGC will grade a card authentic if the card if the card is hand cut. The one listed on line is a different variation than the one you posted. The reason SGC didn't grade the card at the White Plains show was because they couldn't determine if that black & white version was authentic or not. I know the customer offered me the card for $160. & after speaking to SGC about the card, I couldn't take the risk.

SGC has graded the b/w before. Not sure why that one was questionable.
