I know this topic was brought up about a year ago(probably at this time) but after seeing the latest poll and the fact that 27% have never been to a National I think a better rotation of the sites should be in order. People have said that NYC is too expensive as is Las Vegas so we seem to always have to rotate Cleveland,Chicago and Anaheim. If NYC is out what about Philly,Boston or Baltimore of somewhere in Florida? I know the argument against Philly is because of the famous show down there but since is has been moved to Reading why not try it there? There has to be a much better rotation of this show in my opinion.CN

Anyone know why St. Louis is out of the mix? I attended the 1995 convention there and thought the location was great. It seemed like a well-run event to me.

And, of course, it's close to East St. Louis.

Agreed. For those collectors that do not have a limitless budget (most of us), the cost of getting to, and staying at, the National site becomes a serious factor. By having a more geographically diverse rotation, many of those collectors would have the shot to attend. Baltimore, St. Louis, Louisville, Dallas and Charlotte are examples of those markets that would likely attract numbers of local collectors (and their money) who otherwise might not be able to attend.

If you have the National on the west coast, the east coast collectors don't come. If you have the National on the east coast, the west coast collectors don't come. I think it needs to be in the middle of the country to accomodate everyone.

I'm on the east coast. I'm saving every last penny to make it to the show. After hotel, gas, food, parking, admission, etc,... I won't have any money left to spend on cards, but what the hell. At least I'll make it there.
