is this '49 Leaf Premium ?

This Ruth card closed on ebay today - item # 200078934413 - the seller listed it as 1949 Leaf Premium. I posted an earlier thread on this issue - The reply scans do not look like this card, but similar. The ebay card has no script on the bottom, just a normal white border. Can anyone positively identify this ebay Ruth card? Big thanks, I was high bidder, rolled the dice on this one.

It looks like this seller bought this card from Hyee Auctions on December 10 for $270. Hyee is a solid seller. The original sale shows a better scan. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270063844233>

I agree with Ted though. It doesn't even look like the Gehrig sample shown in the original auction. The photo actually looks like the 1974 Capital Publishing issue.

To the best of my knowledge, there were four different 1949 Leaf Premiums produced for Babe Ruth (this is one of them). They comprise a variety of different tints, colors and general appearances.

There are 8 different HOFers in this set of Premiums (5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches)

Alexander
Cochrane
Gehrig
Johnson
Mathewsom
McGraw
Walsh

and Babe Ruth....of which there are two....one is B/W and a Blue tinted one.

The B/W Ruth is pictured against a dark background and has a printed strip on the bottom edge of
the premium and a facsimilie autograph.

The one you won has Ruth with a White background and I don't know from what set that card is in.

Here are the actual Premiuns that were inserted at the botton of the Leaf wax pack boxes. You could redeem 10 Leaf wrappers for a portrait.
