Default First PSA Grade Ever

I just joined and look forward to interacting with the board. I am in my sixties and my only card collecting was done in my youth. I still have my collection of baseball/football cards ranging from 1960-1971. I had some nice basketball cards from the late sixties, but somewhere along the line the were lost along with my oversized football cards from that era. I know I had at least one and maybe several Lew Alcindor rookie cards and losing those makes me sick, but at least I retained my other cards.

In early November I sent off 18 of my cards to be graded by PSA. Today my first grade popped and it was a PSA 4 for my Nolan Ryan Rookie. This was the only card I submitted under the 10 day turn around. I had guessed it would grade between 4 and 6 so I guess I am satisfied with that grade. I’ll attempt to post a picture whe I get the slab back.

I submitted the following under a 20 day turn around-

1968 Johnny Bench Rookie
1968 Willie Mays
1968 Super Stars

My collection is heavy in 1968 and 1969 Topps and these cards are in the best shape because they were near the end of my collecting days so they didn’t get handled much.

I also submitted a 1960 Willie Mays All Star Card and a 1966 Sandy Koufax. I don’t expect either of these to grade well, but I wanted them graded and in a slab anyway. The rest of my submission includes the following-

1968 Tom Seaver, Pete Rose, Carl Yastrzemski, Roger Maris, Frank Robinson

1969 Ernie Banks, Lou Brock, Rick Monday, Harmon Killebrew, Don Drysdale, Al Kaline

1970 Hank Aaron

If y’all are interested I’ll post the other grades as they come in. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the board. You'll find an amazing amount of knowledge here and some wonderful collections.

We'd love to see some of your slabs once they are returned.

Welcome aboard. That's a trio of sweet cards! Here's hoping you see nothing but high numbers.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
