Default Need help to identify a pin Ted Williams

Posted By: jay wolt

A friend inquired about this Ted Williams pin
and I have no idea. Its the size of a half dollar
and since Ted fought in 2 wars I figured this can
be associated w/ a pre war issue.
Leon if this is too much latitude, feel free to remove.

So if anyone can alert me to the approx age, issue & value
it would be appreciated. It is not for sale, this is not
my intent, that's why its on the main board not the B/S/T
Thanks...jay

Hi Jay,
That is a very common Ted Williams pin. They were put out in the 40-50s era. There are 2 versions of that pin. Size 1 1/4 inch size and 1 3/4 inch size. Yours looks to me to be 1 1/4 inch size and I do believe yours is a Repro. The face on yours looks very black and blurry. A real one his face is very clean. It really doesnt matter on that pin repros are about 3 dollars and real ones go in the 5-15 dollar range. The 1 3/4 ones go in the 20-65 dollar range.
Hope that helps. Al
