March 10th 1954 Hank Aaron signed baseball
Recently I purchased a 1954 Braves/Red Sox Spring Training Signed Baseball that is PSA certified and documented as being from spring training. I spent almost 2 weeks relentlessly doing research on the players that signed the ball and couldn't believe what I found. There were key players that gave me a idea when the ball was signed but one player (Guy Morton Jr) was the player who helped me date the ball to March 10th 1954 (Hank Aaron's first start with the Braves and first homerun). I was able to find all the lineups from all the spring training games played against the red sox and Guy Morton only tried out with the Red Sox in Florida that day and was quickly sent down to the minors after. I was able to contact his sister who also confirmed this from her Mother (Guy's wife). Another key player who pitched to Hank that game is Ben Flowers. But Guy Morton was the key to the ball. Here's a few pics I just wanted to share with you guys
