Default Article about Dick Perez and Perez Steele

For those interested, there is an article in today's Philadelphia Daily News about local artist Dick Perez of Perez-Steele fame.

You can read it here:

https://www.inquirer.com/phillies/di...-20220906.html

I had the pleasure of "working with him" a bit when he was painting portraits of Phillies, A's and Philly born HOFer's when Citizen Bank opened. They are still hanging in the Hall of Fame club at the park.

I even brokered a few sales of his artwork for him.

Love his art, and his Turkey Red style set. And of course the Diamond Kings that were usually the coolest base cards each year of the 80’s.

Big fan of Dick Perez, have a couple of modern original paintings used on 2008 Topps cards, incl the Torii Hunter below.

Loved the article almost as much as I love his artwork.

Bill, that Ripken painting is GREAT!

I have Perez paintings of Joe Torre and Mike Mussina.

I really wish someone like Graig K. had been around in the 80's to do all of that painting in place of Perez.

But then he'd be old now!

I bet that Graig's best years are still ahead of him, which will be pretty incredible.

Would have had way more love for a Kreindler Art Card series! Imagine getting Paige, Lloyd Waner, Greenberg and the like to sign them?!

Thanks for sharing the link, but I can't get past the paywall. I wish that I would have started getting the Perez-Steele postcards signed much earlier than I did. I wish someone had the money to continue the hof series.
