Default Help with a baseball game

Picked this game up in a trade. Thought the box was neat. The game comes with a spinner and instructions. The instructions have a patent date of 1921.
Any idea on value? Is it complete the way it is? Has anyone seen another like it? Like I said, I just picked it up for the cool graphics. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The house that Ruth built was done in 1923. Looks like a fun little time burner.

Ricky, Does the black portion spin independently from the base?

Rick, that is a marvellous item, and quite a scarce one to say the least -- we're not sure we've ever seen one for sale or at auction. It was made, if memory serves correct, by Occult Novelty, but we're all on the road this Thanksgiving week and won't have access to our files (and more reliable information) until we return home. We'll take this opportunity to call dibs, though, if you ever decide to sell it!
Back with more details in a few days...

Hi again Rick -- sorry we don't have much of anything to add to what we could recall off the tops of our heads. We do not have any record of sales of the game, which you can take to mean none of the usual major on-line sports memorabilia auction houses have handled one in at least the past seven or eight years, although it's quite possible we missed one or two on eBay in that time. The game is included in Mark Cooper's Baseball Games book (page 91), although we'd guess his 1994 price estimate is way high for today's market. Mark lists it as a product of the Occult Company, which the little instruction booklet you have may verify. Steve/Ladder7 makes an excellent observation that despite the game's 1921 patent date, Yankee Stadium, illustrated on the box, was not completed until 1923.
