Default T206 noob here, question about recent Cobb purchase.

Long time admirer who is finally taking the plunge to get this set going, starting with the cards I like the most.

I picked this up as I absolutely love how beautiful these portrait cards are. I am more concerned with eye appeal (no creases & paper loss, centered) vs corner wear. Would any of you long term collector experts have any concerns with this outside of possibly paying way too much : )

Ebay Link

Much appreciated.

looks good to me. I don't think you paid too much. Looks like it would grade out at a "3" to me and that would put you in range of $900. If it graded a "4", even higher. So, not too bad.

Congrats on your first pickup!

I like the deal. I think you got a very good buy, but don't worry, speaking from personal experience, you'll overpay for something soon enough.

Agree that you will inevitably overpay for something sooner or later--usually with a card quite high on the want list that you haven't seen for quite while, and then, after you've bought it, several better examples/deals come out. But if it's rare and significant, time will most likely make you more than whole, and I wouldn't waste much time worrying about it!
