Personally I'd be extra cautious when looking at desirable RAW cards (T206 Cobb).

real but PSA most likely will give it a (MC) qualifier.

i am not so sure that this card is miscut, it is IMO out of focus or registration though. Look at Ty's eyes they too are 'doubled'

I think this card would still fit in a holder.

I could be wrong.

Steve

edited to add: also look at the right border and you can see where the yellow ink bleeds over to the white border.

Do you think I should grade it or just put it in a 1/4 case? Im going to keep it, but may sell it in a few years

I would get it graded. That way it is at least authenticated. It may get a OF qualifier (one not normally seen as of late though) If it was a coin you would have a winner.

Pete that I can not answer to. The other guys here have way more experience in that regard then i will ever have. I am simply stating my opinion that it is a registration problem that caused the card to appear doubled like that. Is it real? i have no idea.

I assume it is as many here have said so.

Get it graded and then you will have no doubt!

Good luck, I like the card.

Steve

As a coin it resembles the 1955 double die Lincoln Penny.

The dark brown in the hair (top line of head) and eye lids are also double printed.

This would prove the caption is printed in the pass with the dark brown details, not in a pass by itself.

That Cobb card is real. Definitely.

It is miscut, and slightly diamond cut, but I don't think either of those account for all that is wrong there at the bottom of the card. It looks like additional cutting occurred.

Brown printing pass seems doubled, as mentioned above.

You asked if we'd get it graded. I definitely would not, unless I was going to sell it. No way I'd get that graded if I were keeping it.

Thanks.
Yea I wasnt sure if it had been cut again. I dont think it has. It measures the same as my other red back. And it does go at an angle on the bottom. But if you look at the top it also angles the other direction. Any advice as to how I can tell if it may have been cut?

Get an index card, or a piece of card stock (did you get a shirt for Christmas, get that cardboard in the collar or backing). Cut it once, with a pair of scissors. Get a REALLY strong magnifying lens, and look at 2 edges, the one you cut and the one that was already cut. The one you cut will show a slight mashing down of the edge of the paper, and the nature of the cut will be different. I think if you study that, then look at the edges on your card, and other T206s, you'd get a feel for what a natural edge looks like....

I could type all day, and probably would get about as far describing the difference as I would if I tried to explain what beer tastes like... ya just gotta try it yourself!

Great, Thanks.
I just looked over it with my 10X loop and I dont think its been cut. If I were to get it graded SGC maybe? Do yall think they would give it a 2? The card is clean but it just has those damn factory errors.

My two cents is that it is real with a cool double print of the name. Rob
