The toughest 1957 Topps Card in High Grade

I think this is a pop 3, acquired from who else--The King of Vintage Basketball himself--Mike Rakosi. Last one I needed to complete the set. |

All right Crandell! Now knock it off! I've owned this set (ungraded) for 20+ years. I was always perfectly happy with it. Never thought of any reason to upgrade. But your constant postings of near flawless cards is starting to tick me off. (Obviously, I'm only kidding. I love seeing your cards. It helps raise my standards going forward.) |

One of the biggest challenges in these is centering. I'm a centering freek and that's why it has taken me 10+ years to finish the set in 7 (1 to go). Gotta love the sets in 8, quite an accomplishment. Doing this set in 8 o/c would be a breeze, and the 8 o/c cards are quite cheap. For me, centered 7's have been a hard enough challenge, without going broke. The Gallatin I posted is VERY tough well centered. |

Of course, Mr. Tough of the set, #1 Sweetwater. I have a great 6, another member has dibbs when I find an even better centered 7. |
