Default D328 1917 Weil Wagner BVG 2

Anybody buy this card? Seller kept playing games and shill bidding to create a false market. Also didn't want to offer any guarantee being in Beckett holder. My guess he settled for $3500 which is all its worth.

Default Seller

I have bought several items from this seller without a problem. I was bidding on the Wagner and it was at around $2200 with less than 24 hours to go. When I checked it the next morning the auction was gone. A couple of days later the card showed up again with a BIN of $5000, or best offer. When I asked the seller what happened, he said someone asked him to end the auction early for $3500. The buyer then backed out. So, it was relisted and after a couple of days it was gone again, so I'm guessing someone made an offer that was accepted.

A month or so ago he had a bunch of type 2 Coupon cards listed. I was the high bidder on several of these cards, but all of the auctions were ended. I asked him about it and he said that he wasn't getting enough action, so he was taking the cards to the Tri-Star show in Houston.

Default Brians card

Hi Brian, I noticed the card you purchased was similar to one that I purchased. Beckett graded these as 1917 Weil Baking rather than a 1920 or 1921 Holsum. I notified Beckett a month ago but I never received a response.

Default Ed

Hi Ed, what makes you think shilling was going on with this auction? I was checking the bidding history as the auction proceeded and I didn't pick up on anything.

Thanks, Rick

I was going to buy the card from the guy then he kept raising price on me. I was going to make a deal with him but then he wouldn't guarantee the card although it said otherwise in auction. He was making up offers as I was about to purchase so then I was just too annoyed to buy. He pulled card not because he had a deal but because he thought card worth more than $3500. Then card shows up again a few hours later with no offers for a few days. I find it quite surprising if there were so many people interested in the card why no offers would be made for a couple days.
