Default Anyone bid on or win any of the basketball in Mears last night?

Last night Mears sold an incredible collection of Basketball programs. I saw it late but I had a few bids on some baseball items and thanks to Mears rules I was able to bid on some during extended bidding. A number of exceedingly scarce programs and autographs. I won a few and lost a few but what hurts worst is all the programs that were won with a single bid that I didn't have a shot at. I have interest in some and would love to find some kindred collectors who collect same stuff as me. And hopefully buy or trade with them.

There were some bargains in those signed programs. Especially, the Indianapolis and LA Stars programs. The Cincy Royals lot was quite nice also. All of the programs with the Washington Capitols, Providence Steamrollers and St Louis Bombers should have sold for more. The photo lots were good also. No bids on the Kentucky Colonels lots. The photo lot with Celtics players was okay, but it looks like a few of them were reprints. During the 1990's I collected original NBA team issue photos. I had well over 100 of Celtics players from 1946-1965 including multiple Russell and other HOFers and quite a few stars from other teams. No one was giving them any love so they were easy to acquire for $10 each or less.

Funny you mention 2 of the lots I did win the Signed programs the Olympians 50-51 and the LA vs Minn ABA with 19 signatures. I at least had a shot at those. I was underbidder on the 46-47 BAA championship program. But about half of the programs sold for minimum bid. And I have 3 or 4 of those on my want list.
Along with the minimum bid lots there were a handful of programs that did very well and that is always good to see. But this was a great collection. Just sorry I came upon it late.

I asked but was told they could not pass on that information. But definitely from a single collector the consigner numbers are all the same. Here are a couple of the programs I won.

What a great deal you got !!! If I had that collection to sell, I would have consigned them all to one of the larger memorabilia auction houses for sure.

Not sure if your collecting includes yearbooks, but I have original UCLA yearbooks from 1963, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68.

The '66, '67, '68 feature Lew Alcindor with '67, '68 being their championship seasons. '63, '64 feature Gail Goodrich and Walt Hazzard. '64, '65 feature their back to back National championships.

Let me know if you're interested.
