It's a little late for this (the results will be announced 2:00 eastern on Tuesday), but what are your predictions for the Veterans Committee vote? |

Hodges should get in but probably won't. 7 consecutive seasons of 100 or more RBI. 8 time AS. WS manager. |

that no one will get in this year because the town will already be jammed with Ripken and Gwynn fans, and that the higher ups have instructed the voters to save it for another year...we've got some weak ballots in the upcoming years... |

he was one of the brightest burning stars in the game, ...just didn't last too long...there is something to be said for abbreviated brilliance, e.g. Koufax, Puckett, etc |

Veterans Committee Predictions

I believe this is going to be Ron Santo's year (I sound like a Cubs' fan predicting a pennant!). It wouldn't surprise me if Minnie Minoso gets snubbed again, but he's by far the most deserving of the lot. He must of really pissed somebody off back in the days. I heard Bob Feller is making a big push for Cecil Travis, who just passed away. While I believe Travis is very deserving (3rd highest average for a shortstop, career cut short by the war), I doubt he'll get in. But if he does this would be his year. That's how Rabbit Maranville got in — a big publicity push just after he died. Hodges stands a good chance, but he's more of a sentimental choice. If they don't put any of these guys in, I just hope they don't vote in somebody like an owner, an umpire or a general manager type. It boggles my mind that we're even discussing guys like Buzzie Bavasi, Harry Dalton and Bowie Kuhn in the same breath as the aforementioned all-time greats ... |
