It seems like most of you know each other's eBay names... unfortunately, I don't know many of yours at all. I'd love to know what some of your names are so I could bookmark them as favorite sellers. If anyone thinks this is inappropriate, I apologize. Its just nice to know there are certain auctions where the seller can be trusted. There are just too many "powersellers" out there that shouldn't be.

I'm more of a buyer than a seller on eBay, but mine is highskitz_velvet

Thanks,
Ray

PS.. Bill, if you think this is a bad idea, feel free to delete this thread.

I actually tried to start a similar thread awhile back with little (actually no) response. I would like to know for the very same reasons - there is a definite comfort level purchasing from board members.

I also mostly buy on ebay though I sell from time to time - mostly when Ive upgraded or I am trying to sell some cards to get some money for other cards that I would like to purchase.

My ebay id is: jkrasner2

Although I haven't and do not anticipate selling, maybe we can reach an agreement if we are ever bidding on the same item, rather than bidding each other up unnecessarily.

I know I am type-card-collector and my homey Scott B is SB1, on ebay. We are both fairly reliable ,although he sells more than I do on ebay. I don't think this is a bad idea so people can find some trustworthy sellers and not rely on ebay BS for knowing. You can also find a very good list (even though I didn't make it on) at the OldCardboard Magazine website. ALSO, I wish more people would subscribe to it. It's the only mag (where'd VCBC go?) we have and I have heard a lot of stories about people bitching about it, and this and that, and not even ponying up the $23 for a years subscription. If you collect vintage cards and aren't a subscriber you are missing the boat. And No this is not a paid advertisement. It's just a very good magazine, and the only reliable one we have, so I hope it stays in business. (no rumors please, they aren't in jeopardy).....later

I've primarily been a collector, but will be starting to wean thru my collection and sell off more from it. The bulk is 1939-75 Leaf, Playball, Bowman, Topps, Fleer stuff, bunches of regional food issues and 50's/60's non-sport. But also some T & E and a periodic N. Find me at ocjack.

My ebay handle is 'twistedude'......dont ask, long story. Like many others, I sell only to cover the costs of my purchases, which have become fewer and far-betweener in recent months.

I thought everybody knew each others' I.D. Robert not knowing mine, as much as he and I have dealt with one another just shows the need for this thread.

Add me to the list of those who would encourage everyone to subscribe to Old Cardboard's magazine. It's great and there's not enough of these types of publications out there.

I've never sold a card (or anything else) on ebay, but probably will sometime in the future. Hopefully, I'm a good buyer, though. I do have that 100% rating going.

Dave

ebay - Piedmont206

That's because I inherited a Monster collection of about 500 cards, all but 2 were Piedmont (2 old mills). About 100 dupes, missing about 100 which I've been filling in. Down to about 45 left, the more expensive ones.

"tbob" short for trophybob. The trophy part comes from an American Legion baseball team I coached from almost 10 years named Fort Smith Trophy Sportswear. Area champs 5 times, runners-up 3 times, with a State Championship. The old saying is true, former catchers always make the best managers
I buy and sell, usually selling only to finance my buying habits. I've had over 5000 feedbacks on ebay with only 2 negatives: one from a psycho who bought an old record album and the other was retaliatory feedback about 3 years ago from a guy who never paid and I filed for a non-paying credit on ebay. I am still batting 100% with cards (knock on wood).
I think this thread is great because I know when I buy cards from leon or scott b. or scott e. or quan or tim or wayne or mark m. or john or pete or rhett or greg or andy or bill or any of the guys I've met on this board I know I am going to be treated fairly and honestly.
