I saw this at a recent card show in Raleigh and thought it was once of the nicest mid-grade '57 Micks I'd ever seen. It carried a bit of a hefty price tag, but I thought I'd kick myself forever if I didn't buy a nice '57 before prices got even higher. I worked out a deal with the seller for this and a couple other sharp HOF '57s and a super nice raw '55 Bowman Aaron.

1957 Mantle by

Wow, great pickup! A centered 57T Mantle is not easy to find. Whatever you paid for the card will most likely pay off in the near future. Congrats!

Groundbreaking set, 1st to use color photography, it looks like Kodachrome to me. So expensive to produce in 1953 that they went to black and white and cut the set to 64 cards the next year. The Musial is probably the top ten most beautiful cards ever produced.

Dan, that 57 Mick is amazing. You could go a couple years without seeing one centered so well, let alone one that you had a chance to purchase. Great card.

Hi Jeff, just to let you know that's not my 57T Mantle, it's Dan's. But I'd love to have that card part of my collection though. Very cool card!

This card is fantastic. I would make you a tidy profit on it if you were a flipper!
Really top notch. When you're tired of staring at it holler at your boy.

The 53B is a great selection, Peter. That was the first Mantle I ever bought. The image is just so striking in the set design's minimalism yet also the composition of that photo.

I could not resist this PSA 1. Eye appeal off the charts.

I'm over here just trying to have a nice peaceful day at work. I check out net54, and Matt is like "Ho-hum...nice cards everyone. Here's a little something I picked up... no big deal.."

WHAT A CARD! What a month of August for post war pickups.

I picked up another for my Frank Robinson run. It's been slow going, but I'm down to 4 cards remaining (63, 66, 69, 73).

Even going back to the 70s when I worked helping a collector sell singles to set builders at our monthly sports card meeting, far more Topps cards would be sold in comparison to Bowmans. I believe that Bowmans appeal to the "next level" of collecting as I have run across many Topps-only collectors, but never one that only focused on the former.

Even on Net54 the 53 Bowmans don't come up much for discussion or sales. As you stated it may have to do with the fact that it doesn't include the number of superstars that Topps included in their yearly offerings. That 53 Bowman is a very nice SGC 5.

Default Mascot Dog Food card!

Just picked up this beauty! Robin Roberts Mascot Dog Food card.

Only 1 has been graded by PSA. Think there may be a graded Beckett or SGC too.

This one is the only autographed copy known .
