Default Clark Gillies

It's funny/strange/odd how things happen sometimes.

I currently have a 75-76 Clark Gilles OPC graded RC saved in my eBay watchlist just to follow along to see where it ends, and just now, while finishing comparing its condition to mine, I opened up this news article to read where Mr. Gillies had passed.
RIP Mr. Gillies. They don't make them like you anymore.

Even as a die hard Ranger fan from back in the early '60's I was very saddened to hear this yesterday. I literally hated these Islander guys back in the day (Potvin, Bossy, Smith et. al.) but as years have passed I came to respect how really, really good they were. I'm sure I knew it even then, but just couldn't admit it.

As guys you used to watch play leave this existence seemingly every week it makes me wish there was a hockey equivalent of Ritter's "The Glory Of Their Times" to have on the reading table.

Great card of a great player.

Thanks, Al.

I missed the tribute to Clark last night prior to the Leaf's/Isle's game and I'm pissed at myself for that.
Hopefully I can find it somewhere today on youtube or where ever?
