Nothing too rare in there but for that price a nice deal. It's showing as closed to me.

And on that note...Great. Now there's another website I'll be compelled to monitor for the once in a blue moon they actually have an interesting pennant.

I wouldn’t bother. It seems to be a local Kansas City site....altho they will ship.

i'm not a pennant collector, I'm a Dodger collector who likes pennants, and for me, the blue version is the only one I would be interested in. I personally don't like it in red, but I also won't be the one spending $5k on this one.

Yep, I plan to cover The Reproduction Co. next.

I just finished my write-up on Keezer Mfg. Co. I'll post that article in a few days.

The original plan for today was to build a google album of just my baseball pennants, but once I started I realized a full reboot was in order. Only got halfway done today. My wife is a good sport.

Of course, "her half" of the bedroom looks fairly normal.

Yes, please do a Google album! Love those!

Waiting for Mark to do a Google album of his $1000+ pennants.

Haha... very funny!

I threw out my back, bending down for hours and sorting thru them all last time. As a result, the chiropractic bills are about the equivalent of that '55 World Series Pennant (the one in in Lelands - not the one Greg "stole").

So if you want to come up to Seattle and help, I'll be more than happy to do the album! If it's any consolation, I am at least 20 miles away from the current insanity.

I think we should all go up and declare Mark’s entire collection “the Peoples’ Pennants” ....

Default 1941 Dodgers Yankees World Series Pennant

Anyone buy this on ebay? Seller had it as an auction, starting bid of $800, but ended it early by selling to someone for $600. I couldn't find any past sales for it anywhere.

That would be me. I was following it closely. He eventually lowered the initial starting bid and added a “Buy it Now”, I got it for well over 600. I’d never seen a ‘41 pennant like this, no idea of value.

That logo is similar to the Eagles logo of the 1930s, but I don't know if this pennant goes back that far. I have a full size version in green, I've always attributed to the 1950s, but it's likely older.

I've been playing around sorting out pennants for the past few days. Again the intent was a baseball project but I've back burnered that idea while I take inventory on my football. I'll take some Eagles pics and share. In the meantime, here's a few I took in the last 24 hours. I had no idea I had so many duplicate Rams.

Rob those are awesome! Very cool Rams pennant on eBay, not sure if still active, with a full body ram graphic.

Can’t wait to see the Eagles and the baseball pics.

By the way, do you know if there is a “Steagles” pennant in existence? I have seen the Cardinals-Steelers pennant but not Phil-Pitt.

Great pickup Greg... You got it for a pretty nice price. His original $800 was a bit steep, but I think it's worth every penny you paid. I have the 1940 Tigers/Reds WS Pennant with same exact graphics and double-scroll. But yours is a bit rarer. Condition looks phenomenal as well. Nice pickup!

Rob- Great stuff as always. More than a few in there that I'm drooling over because they never come available. Very nice!

On a separate note, I just picked up this one. It rarely surfaces, because you had to redeem trading card wrappers to get it. And normally (if you can even find one) it's badly faded and/or soiled with cracked graphics. This one was the nicest I'd ever seen, and was a nice upgrade for me....

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-GO-...rdt=true&rt=NC

I'll be looking to sell my existing one, which grades VG, and is more faded than the one linked above. If anyone is interested, please reach out for pics/pricing via email or PM. Thanks!

That’s the Rams one I mentioned in my last post! Very cool pickup!

Thanks about the ‘41 pennant. I’d never seen it before and image search comes up empty. I paid a BIN of $740. A tick steep? but I’m trying to get something from every Bkn Dodger WS season, don’t have 1916 or 1953.

I’ve seen this style pennant for the ‘39, ‘40 series and I already had ‘47. So I wonder if the years in between were made. My guess is the 1939 Yankees-Reds pennant was the oldest to show a “scroll” of player names. I wonder if we can find the maker of these .... (Domer?)

Would love to know the maker as well....

Greg, I have seen that one pushing $1,000 on more than one occasion. Not sure if it has ever hit 4 figures, but has come very close. You did fine with the price!

Wish I knew, too. There were several different scrolls used throughout the 1940s ... perhaps from multiple different makers.

I don't think it's by Trench. They used the same white, narrow, single name scroll throughout the late 1940s-1980s. It looked different than this....

Really nice, Rob, thank you. The picture pennant is especially awesome, looks like great condition. You have any football scroll pennants? I’ve only seen two ... Browns and Bills AAFC. And some college bowl pennants ...

I can only remember the Bills coming up for auction once and there were other pennants in the auction I wanted more, so I didn't make much effort.

The Browns, I've seen a few times. The first time was a long time ago, before I could bring myself to spend more than $150 on a pennant, so I didn't even try. Then, about three years ago on ebay, and I thought I had a rock solid bid only to see it sell for about $500 more. It ended up going for close to $1300. Clean Sweep had one in even better condition a couple years ago, but I wasn't interested in spending over $1300 when there were other pennants in the auction that I wanted and it ended up selling for only $750, which was lower than my bid in the ebay auction a year earlier. So...Long story short...I don't have either.

Again ... if the winner is anyone on the board, I got a swell custom frame specifically for this pennant ...

Default Keezer Mfg. Co.

It's been a while since I posted anything over on Pennant Fever. The past three months of sheltering-in-place has afforded me the time to write some new content. This week I posted a story on Keezer Mfg. Co., a fairly well known and much admired pennant maker based in New England. You can find it here:

https://pennantfever.weebly.com/blog.../keezer-mfg-co

Additionally, you'll find new content over on Pennant Factory, including a ca. 1960 Oakland Raiders (AFL) pennant re-make; and a ca. 1950s Collegiate of Ames "Mascot banner" re-make that both turned out nicely. See:

https://pennantfactory.weebly.com/

As many of you know, there's not a lot of places to look for information on these companies and their products. I rely heavily on you all for much of what I know. So, for those of you that contribute to this thread on a daily basis, or kindly allowed me to use your photos, THANK YOU.

Hey all,

I am starting to sort through about 60 pennants given to my wife and I after a grandfather passed away a few years back. There are about 30 collegiate pennants.

Rumor has it, he would go to Nebraska Cornhusker games and buy the pennant of the opposing team as a souvenir. We'll, I did some looking to try and verify that. According to that logic, this Syracuse pennant would be from 1961.

Does that timeline add up based on the look of the pennant?

Thanks!

Does that timeline add up based on the look of the pennant?

Additionally, you'll find new content over on Pennant Factory, including a ca. 1960 Oakland Raiders (AFL) pennant re-make; and a ca. 1950s Collegiate of Ames "Mascot banner" re-make that both turned out nicely. See:

As many of you know, there's not a lot of places to look for information on these companies and their products. I rely heavily on you all for much of what I know. So, for those of you that contribute to this thread on a daily basis, or kindly allowed me to use your photos, THANK YOU.

This is great, Kyle. Thanks. The only thing I would add as to why I think people like the Keezer pennants is that the designs are often so different from other makers (e.g., Astros). Different design plus difficult to find (for some) makes them great to chase.

Question for the group. What's the best way to reattach a photo to a picture pennant? I picked up a small collection this past weekend and 2 of the picture pennants came with the photos detached.

This should do it - any clear glue stick. Not anything like crazy glue. It won’t show through to the other side. And I would only put a little bit on the edges or corners.

Also because they are well made, the stitching doesn’t come loose and this keeps the tassels attached. Nothing beats Trench as far as the designs, though ...

As I wait to see what else Fballguy found in his Spring cleaning, I'll add this photo (not mine) to the ongoing collection of old pennant photos.

I hate seeing this thread work it’s way down the page, so here are my pennants from the under appreciated Boston Braves:

NOTE: Dead link ... I have to fix this tomorrow

Greg, the album isn't coming up for me.... not sure whether something went wrong, or perhaps it's my computer.

Eager to see the Braves collection but (while waiting) here's a rare Milwaukee Braves that I picked up recently. Rare might be an understatement, as this is the first and only one I've ever seen.

Of course now that I said that, I bet there's one already sitting in Greg's collection (which I can't see )

Mark that’s awesome! I saw that just go up on eBay. A rare one with two colored tassels. And no I don’t have it, never saw it before either. Congrats.

I’ll try to figure out what the deal is with the link. I think I have to create the album in a laptop first ...

Phenomenal Greg...

Some very rare ones there, and love them all. Especially the top two in the first column.

Great stuff!

Thanks Rob. I have about 500-600 pre-1969, and another couple hundred from 70s to mid 80s packed away never to be seen again. About 75-100 football. I have 190 baseball pennants on display in the basement/game room and 25 in the home office .... only problem is, when it comes time to sell, I’m gonna flood the market! I’d better start soon Or somehow create more pennant collectors!

I bid on this one for resale, but wasn’t your underbidder. I have seen tons of Mil Braves pennants on the past as I’m in Mpls, but I’ve never seen that one. Condition looks outstanding as well. Great grab Mark

Thanks Jason...

It was one of those situations where the underbidder drove up the price way higher in the last 5 seconds with his snipe. I have a suspicion about who it was, but also believe they would've gone higher and won it, had they really wanted it.

Either way... very happy to get it, as it's almost impossible to find new ones these days (especially on eBay).
