Late '40s / early '50s.... perhaps someone else can "pin it down" more specifically (pun intended). |

How old is this pinback?

I have several and believe they are from the forty's. Prior to the end of the '30's,the Reds logo featured the word "REDS" within the larger "C".Around 1939,the logo changed to show the word "REDS" coming out of the "C".My understanding is that in the early 1950's,"REDS" changed to "Red Legs" because of the Sen.McCarthy hearings looking for Reds(commies).Hope this helps. |

Thanks Len...I couldn't pass it up as cheap as it was anyway, but I probably wouldn't have bought it if it was 1960s or later. |
