Default Help With Oddball Babe Ruth Card

I've been trying to research this set but coming up blank:

I've figured ca. 1953 based on the information in the write-ups but have been unable to find other examples of the booklet or the stamps. Anyone have anything to add?

I don't know anything about them but there are several on Worthpoint. Appears that they were distributed at various Esso Service Stations.

Not related, but there was also an Esso Babe Ruth Boys Club in the 30's.

Adam, here is some more information that will be of no use to you with your research. Esso is the phonetic pronunciation of S.O. and was the new name chosen for Standard Oil of New Jersey after the breakup of the Standard Oil monopoly. Esso was eventually renamed Exxon in 1973.

Interestingly enough, in addition to these baseball stamp quiz albums, Esso also published the Negro Motorist Green Book.

Esso, back in the early 70's, was popular for hockey stamps and books but I am unsure if they did anything for baseball?
I know I was right into them and I know I drove my father nuts constantly asking him if he needed gas?

Those books likely got tossed but thankfully I still have this one from Loblaws groceries when I was 10.

Off topic, but that Orr sticker doesn't go with that book. The book is from the 1974-75 season and the Orr sticker looks like this:

That's correct. The Orr is the Esso sticker and the book Loblaws.
I need one sticker of a Detroit player to complete it but his name currently escapes me.

Instant impression is that the art looks similar to the 1954 Quaker Oddities set, but maybe that's just a period thing.
