Default Only Game Footage of Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese Doing Play by Play

Interesting footage of Reds vs Giants in 1961. The play by play given by Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese.

They don't play the game like they use to. How often do you see a batter bunt on 2 strikes?

That was great. Everyone should watch that clip. It's awesome. No, not too many bunts on 3rd strikes. What a play.

Here's an unedited version of the same half-inning, 12 minutes long instead of 3:

Default Pee wee reese and dizzy dean

One of my greatest memories from that era was watching Pee Wee Reese and Dizzy Dean announce the baseball game of the week for CBS from 1959 to 1965...nothing like it...DEAN was so colorful....I believe Dean also made it to the broadcasters HOF...He passed in 1974

Default Good Post

Thank you to the Op for bringing this up ! One of the highlights of summer vacations in Northern Wisconsin was The Game Of The Week. Seeing all of those stadiums and home uniforms was great. All different from watching Sox and Cubs in Chicago. The players mentioned are so familiar from '59 Topps and newer cards. I really enjoyed both clips posted.

Look at how young and beautiful Willie Mays is as he steps up to the plate. An uncaged tiger with nothing on his mind but taking care of business (TCB). No batting helmet, nothing. Love it!!!!!
